How inflexible are you in relation to the things you value most in work and life?
Leadership is a uniquely pressurised role. Psychological flexibility is a vital measure of resilience, mental health and of the likelihood of success for leaders handling stress, pressure and pace. Inflexibility is a key indicator of problems when facing the challenges of work and life.
Take this quick survey to measure your own levels of flexibility.
The survey measures the extent to which you pursue your goals despite the presence of stressors and challenges.
Before taking the survey, select a goal which is central to your leadership, challenging, stressful, generating strong feelings, including for example excitement and frustration, fulfilment and guilt, joy and disappointment.
The index assesses six factors:
- Avoidance (deflecting negative emotions and events that arise when pursuing your goals)
- Acceptance (embracing emotions that arise when pursuing your goals)
- Harnessing (using negative emotions to fuel goal pursuit)
- Commitment (the extent to which you are ready to take action now)
- Experience (whether you have enough knowledge about your options and alternatives)
- Perspective (how open you are to alternative actions or outcomes when pursuing your goals)
Complete the 26 questions (it should only take you 10 minutes) to identify from 6 factors the top 3 areas that are working well and top 3 areas you need to work on to improve your personal psychological flexibility levels. You will also have the ability to see how you compare to the global benchmark (average scores of all completed diagnostics) on each of the 6 factors. If completing on your mobile phone ensure it is held landscape for ease of use.
You will be presented with your results immediately after clicking 'Submit' at the end of the diagnostic. You will also be sent a copy of your results to the email address supplied.
